The first time I saw the value of insurance is when I was 7 years old and my grandmother had just died. She had no estate planning and no life insurance. We ended up having a garage sale and then the family had to come up with the rest of the money out of pocket. Some people in the family didn’t speak for 24 years because of the fall out from it.
